Artist Statement

This piece is from a gesture study, a sculpture session with a model only lasting 3 hours. With the purpose being to capture the rough feeling of a gesture or pose without going into greater detail. While more than 3 hours were spent sculpting the piece, the initial style of the rougher form was preserved. This was one of few such studies I continued to completion, as I deemed it a successful capture of the feeling generated from the pose.
